Beginner Gardening Course
BEGINNER GARDENING COURSE Limerick
Eight months of practical gardening to help you understand your garden, make it better and enjoy it more.
February – September 2027 | One Saturday a month | 12 places
You don't need to know much about gardening to join us.
You just need a garden you'd like to make better — and a willingness to have a go.
Over eight Saturdays, we'll follow the gardening year at Rockbarton, learning what to do and when to do it.
I'll demonstrate the techniques, explain why they matter, and then you'll have a go yourself.
But the real benefit starts when you go home.
Each month, you'll have something you've learned that you can put into practice in your own garden.
- Learn how to prune roses — then go home and prune your own.
- Learn how to grow flowers — then grow some for your garden and bring them into the house.
- Learn how to plant well — then choose plants for your own garden with a better understanding of what will actually work.
- Learn how to grow vegetables — then sow, plant and harvest your own.
As the months go by, you'll start to see the results of what you've learned.
Your garden will change.
You'll understand it better.
And you'll become much more confident making decisions about what to do, what not to do and what to try next.
THE AIM ISN'T TO LEAVE ROCKBARTON KNOWING MORE ABOUT GARDENING.
IT'S TO GO HOME AND ACTUALLY USE WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED.
By September, you'll have eight months of practical experience behind you — and hopefully a garden that's better because of it. And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you'll find yourself enjoying your garden a whole lot more.
Eight Saturdays. Eight months. A better garden, one step at a time.
